- Training Terrific Staff!: A Handbook of Practical & Creative Tools for Camps
"An outstanding resource for staff training! I used segments of this book as a camp director of a Boy Scout summer camp. This was enormously useful, practical, and insightful. I have also had the opportunity to see Michael Brandwein train on how to do training. He knows what he is talking about, and has condensed a great deal of wisdom in this book. If you are serious about training and energizing your staff, this is a must have book." Chris Meirose
"This book is a great all in one package deal for any camp director, staff supervisor, or anyone in a leadership position at a camp. it provides ready to use programs, and ideas that are so simple, yet elegant. I highly recommended this book be one of the sources used when planning for a great staff orientation as well as ongoing training throughout the year. Anyone having heard michael brandwein speak will find this book to reflect the ideas he presents." Another Reader
- The Ultimate Camp Counsellor Manual: How to Survive and Succeed Magnificently at Summer Camp
"My first summer at camp was in 1998 and I was really nervous as I did not know what to expect from this new experience. I took this book with me when I went and found it to be an excellent reference in which I used all summer. Three years later, I still work at a summer camp and still find things in this book that are helpful." A Camp Staffer
This is a great resource for any summer camp. As a member of a camp's central staff I found this book to be an incredible resource for me as well as the many staff members that are working at the camp. This book really covers all aspects of summer camps, and should be used by all to ensure the campers of a great summer.... a must for every camp director A Former Camp Staffer

- Kids Camp!: Activities for the Backyard or Wilderness
From School Library Journal
Grade 3-6?A good guide to outdoor adventures for inexperienced young campers and their families. The authors believe in the importance of having a hands-on relationship with nature while maintaining a healthy respect for it, and stress safety precautions and preparation. The chapters feature directions for making inexpensive equipment and projects while exploring nature; crafts; outdoor games; and recipes for snacks and meals. The large pages are illustrated with black-line drawings and diagrams placed alongside detailed instructions and, often, special boxes with helpful "stay safe" and "nature note" tips. There is an error in the bowline-knot diagram and there is no mention of the need for reservations in many state and national parks. Other than these minor flaws, the book will prevent the uninitiated from making the numerous little mistakes that can become annoying and even dangerous.
- The Kids' Nature Book: 365 Indoor/Outdoor Activities and Experiences (Williamson Kids Can! Series)
From School Library Journal
Grade 1 Up-- In a straightforward, common-sense fashion and approach , Milord presents the world of nature in daily increments. A project or activity is offered for each day of the year, and each week is given a theme around which the projects focus. Some of the activities are simple events that could take place in the home (e.g. preparations for a nature display area, or reading a story or poem which ties in with the week's events). Other activities require visits to parks, beaches, or other outdoor areas. And still other activities can be successfully completed in one's backyard. The initial section includes information on how to use the book, how to respect the wildlife which is being observed, and preparations which should either be taken or made in order to properly observe and work with nature. A book filled with creative activities, but one that is best used with adult help because of the difficult reading level, insufficient number of illustrations, and very small print.
